If the riches of the Indies, or the crowns of all the kingdom of Europe, were laid at my feet in exchange for my love of reading, I would spurn them all.

Reading is one of my favorite activities and it has helped me to grow both personally and professionally. I have lots of different types of books that I love to read and I have a goodreads.com account, where anyone can see many of the books I have read and reviewed. I want to make special mention of a few books here. I'm organizing them on separate pages based on the type of book they are. First of all there are the books written by teachers about their experiences. I love these and feel that I always learn from and am inspired to do more, and do it better. Then there are the books that are written for teachers. These share ways of looking at what we do and help me broaden my praxis. I'm also including some of my favorite children's books. These are books that I have carried with me years after my own children are too grown up to read them. Books that I believe young children should not grow up without getting a chance to hear them. Since I live and work in the arctic I'm also including my favorite books related to this place and it's people. Lastly and this is mostly as a resource I'm including a place for books that I publish.
